28-Day Reading Challenge

I like to set intentions before I set out on any challenge. Doing this is optional. Below is a guide as you set out on your challenge. Use the community to share with others or write it down and keep it to yourself. Use the blog post feature in your page to post your thoughts on how your reading challenge is going or to share ideas, reads and inspirations.

Setting your intention or also called focusing statement will guide your reading and enlist your subconscious mind to stay on track during the 28 days. It's not an easy task for your busy life so this might make it more fun when you know where you're headed.

1) Decide on your intention for reading your 4 books. Some example questions to ask yourself...
Do I want to learn about a certain subject?
Do I have a specific personal objective?
Do I want to create more reading discipline?
Do I want to enjoy the classics?
Do I want to be inspired by great leaders in your industry?
Do I want to get lost in a good story to de-stress?

2) Create an intention or definite outcome for yourself as a result of reading 4 books.
Do I want to change something about yourself?
Do I want to learn to read in another language?
Do I want to help others?
Do I want to earn more money?
Do I want to feel more empowered?
Do I want to have something to talk about with your spouse/friend/co-workers?
Do I want to be entertained and laugh?
Do I want to travel 'in the book'?

3) Set a reading schedule for the 28 days and don't be hard on yourself if you stray from it. Give yourself a day or 2 break from reading.

This focusing statement will explain exactly what you want to achieve when you've completed reading your 4 books.

My focusing statement I used for creating this community, went something like this:
To create a fun and useful community that will be shared by readers of the 28-Day Reading Challenge. This will be for anyone who would like to use the 28 days to put focused attention, movement, enjoyment, and reading discipline into their lives by choosing 4 impactful books then carving out time each day to reading and sharing their experiences with others in the community. The readers will use this knowledge to positively impact their life and in turn the lives of others.
